We’re looking for a technically proficient Data Architect to join our small Data Team. You’ll help shape how our data is structured, migrated, and used across systems to make it work harder, smarter, and more strategically for the future.

The role

You’ll take the lead on defining, building and documenting our data architecture.

An experienced individual contributor, you’ll play a central role in modernising our finance estate, planning and delivering complex data migrations from multiple systems to a new platform.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding and documenting our current data architecture to maintain an accurate view of all data across the organisation
  • Designing data models for transactional and analytical systems aligned to business needs
  • Analysing existing web applications and databases to reverse-engineer data models

  • Providing technical guidance and assurance to stakeholders throughout the delivery of technical solutions
  • Planning and delivering large-scale data migrations from legacy systems to new platforms and archives
  • Advising on, designing and developing solutions to help us get the most out of our data

  • Designing data architecture to solve specific business problems while aligning with organisation-wide standards and principles
  • Hands-on experience of managing complex data migration from legacy systems to new cloud platforms
  • Explaining the concepts and principles of data modelling and creating, maintaining and updating models based on organisational needs, including reverse-engineering from live systems
  • Working with metadata repositories to support complex tasks such as integration impact analysis, and keeping those repositories accurate and up to date
  • Using Power BI, SQL Server Management Studio, MS Fabric, Azure and other tools with confidence
  • Working comfortably with APIs, including iPaaS solutions
  • Communicating data clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Profiling data and analysing source systems
