Megatrends - Environmental tipping points: image descriptions

The climate tipping elements image shows a world map with major climate tipping elements and their locations. Each tipping element is marked with a coloured symbol indicating the global warming threshold at which it may be triggered: red circles for less than 2°C, purple diamonds for 2–4°C, and pink triangles for 4°C or more.

Key elements include Arctic winter sea ice collapse, Greenland ice sheet collapse, West and East Antarctic ice sheet collapse, Amazon rainforest dieback, boreal forest changes, boreal permafrost thaw, Atlantic meridional overturning circulation collapse, Labrador Sea and subpolar gyre changes, Sahel greening, West African monsoon shifts, low-latitude coral reef die-off, and extra-polar mountain glacier loss.
