Be part of building Scotland's future

What will you be doing this summer? How about getting paid to work on real projects on a scale you never thought possible before graduation? Join our Undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme and expect interesting, vital and hands-on work with experienced people you can learn from.

You could be meeting with our clients – the companies innovating and scaling to improve Scotland economically. You’ll work with colleagues from across our extensive network. Crucially, you’ll get world experience to complement your studies. By the time you go back to uni, you’ll have played an important role in helping us secure a prosperous future for Scotland.

We're Scottish Enterprise – Scotland's national and international economic development agency. We work to transform the Scottish economy. What we do really matters: from helping to create high-value jobs and boosting productivity to growing Scotland’s wealth. It’s success you could soon be part of.

The opportunity

Cyber crime is on the increase, posing threats to organisations, governments and individuals the world over.

It makes constant vigilance a necessity for members of our Cyber Security team, as it works to not only stay out in front of new threats but also raise awareness of current cyber security issues across Scottish Enterprise.

By joining the team, you’ll help co-ordinate and deliver mandatory cyber security training delivery – giving you a real understanding of information and cyber security from both a business and a technical perspective.

The role

We’ll look to you to manage this vital training for all Scottish Enterprise staff, ensure compliance across our organisation.

You’ll create awareness materials, update our monthly cyber security blog and work with stakeholders on areas where cyber security awareness could be improved. What you learn and identify you’ll turn into a recommendation report and delivery plan.

You’ll also be called to help with live security incidents from beginning to end, as you work with our operational security team.

Who we're looking for

Strong communication and presentation skills are a must in this role – as well as an ability to explain technical concepts in a way that’s clear and understandable.

Your creative mindset will be invaluable when developing innovative approaches to cyber security training and creating awareness initiatives.

You'll be comfortable working on your own and within a dynamic team environment, and you’ll ideally have a real passion for cyber security and be keen to make a positive impact by educating others.
