Methods
The research included an initial phase of desk research to identify potential supply chain companies, market information, university and research organisation R&D capabilities and the strategic and policy landscape. Twenty expert interviews were conducted.
Findings
The report provides insights into the current and future economic impact of the supply chain and illustrates the scale of pipeline projects compared to the energy storage capacity expected to be required by the Scottish grid electricity network. This will help Scottish Enterprise promote the supply chain in overseas markets and communicate the scale of the Scottish grid-scale energy storage market to investors.
